Jarek Meisner is a Polish trombonist, Principal Trombone of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk, and Professor of Trombone at the Academies of Music in Gdańsk and Bydgoszcz. Between 2018 and 2023 he also served on the faculty of the Academy of Music in Katowice.

 

He graduated from the Music School in Bytom, where he studied in the class of Prof. Paweł Waloszczyk, and from the Academy of Music in Katowice, graduating with distinction in 2018. In 2022 he received the degree of Doctor of Musical Arts, and in 2025 he completed his habilitation in musical arts.

 

He is a prizewinner of numerous international competitions, including the Prague Spring International Music Competition, the Jeju International Brass Competition, the International Trombone Competition in Alsace, and competitions in Brno, Vilnius, Riga, Lviv and Gdańsk. He is also a recipient of several prestigious scholarships, including the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship, the “Young Poland” programme, and the Yamaha Scholarship Foundation of Europe scholarship.

 

As a soloist he has performed with orchestras such as the Lviv Philharmonic, Jeju Philharmonic Orchestra, Luxembourg Military Band, Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot, AUKSO – Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy, the Silesian Philharmonic, the Szczecin Philharmonic, the Elbląg Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonietta Cracovia, the Polish Baltic Philharmonic, Professional Symphonic Band “Rīga”, Vilnius Chamber Orchestra and the Polish Youth Symphony Orchestra. As an orchestral musician he regularly collaborates with many renowned European ensembles and orchestras.

 

In 2023 he released the album “Euphoria” together with pianist Mateusz Meisner. In January 2026 the album “Symphony of Sounds” was released, recorded with the Polish National Wind Orchestra in Lubin, featuring Jarek Meisner as soloist in Bert Appermont’s Colors for trombone and wind orchestra.
