Jakub Sznajder – tubist, educator, orchestral and chamber musician. He is a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin General Music School of the First and Second Degree in Bytom, where he studied tuba under Prof. Paweł Waloszczyk. He continued his education at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice under the guidance of Dr. Jakub Urbańczyk. He further refined his skills through masterclasses with renowned tubists such as Øystein Baadsvik, Jens Björn-Larsen, Paul Krzywicki, Andreas Hofmeir, David LeClair, and Les Neish.
 

Since 2012, he has been a member of the Orkiestra Muzyki Nowej (New Music Orchestra), an ensemble specializing in contemporary music performance. From 2012 to 2023, he was a regular collaborator with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR) in Katowice, and from 2016 to 2022, he taught tuba and euphonium at the Fryderyk Chopin General Music School in Bytom. Between 2017 and 2024, he served as a lecturer at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice.
 

As a chamber musician, he collaborates with the NOSPR Brass Quintet and the Cracow Brass Quintet, ensembles that promote both classical and contemporary music in diverse arrangements.
 

He has also worked with many leading orchestras in Poland, including the AUKSO Chamber Orchestra, Silesian Philharmonic, Elbląg Chamber Orchestra, Silesian Art Collective Chamber Orchestra, Gorzów Philharmonic, Beethoven Academy Orchestra, Kraków Philharmonic, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Leopoldinum Chamber Orchestra, and the Lower Silesian Philharmonic.

  • 2nd Prize – IX National Wind Ensemble Competition, Warsaw (2012)
     
  • Two-time recipient of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship (2009/2010 and 2010/2011).
