Zywieckie Suwakowanie 

XVIII edition of the biggest trombone and tuba festival in Poland

9-13 July 2023 

A student of the Academy of Music in Katowice at the Department of Jazz and Stage Music. He began his adventure with music at the age of 3, when his teacher Rafał Mizdalski (privately his godfather) made a special trombone, an instrument perfect for a small child. Later on, Maciej continued his education in Music School in Bielsko-Biała and at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hanover.

For many years, he participated in many events, competitions and concerts both in Poland and abroad. He took part in numerous masterclasses conducted by outstanding musicians and teachers, including: Ben van Dijk, Peter Malton, Zoltan Kiss, Jose Sibaja, Tomer Maschkowski, Dietmar Küblböck, Michael Steinkuhler. He gave concerts in Poland, Italy, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.

In 2020, he won the prestigious IPV International Trombone Competition in Saarbrücken.

He is a multiple scholarship recipient of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and the Mayor of Szczecinek. He is also a scholarship holder of the “Młoda Polska 2016” program of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

Maciej is a member of the Trombone Unit Hannover band and is the founder of the Re-join band with which he is currently working on releasing his first original album.
