He is a founding member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra under the direction of Claudio Abbado. In addition, he is active internationally as an educator, soloist, and conductor. Mark also helped found the Suzhou Symphony, just outside Shanghai, where he lived for one year.
He is currently a professor of chamber music at the Robert Schumann Hochschule für Musik in Düsseldorf and Brass Chamber Music teacher at the Saar Hochschule für Müsik in Saarbrücken. He also collaborates with numerous international orchestras as a bass trombonist, including the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, Deutsche Symphony Orchestra Berlin, Utopia Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra.
Mark has worked with some of the most renowned conductors, including Claudio Abbado, Kurt Masur, Lorin Maazel, Gustavo Dudamel, Sir Simon Rattle, Daniele Gatti, Sir Neville Marriner, Theodor Currentzis, and Daniel Harding.
Furthermore he is active as a soloist and chamber musican being a regular participant at the Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival, and has appeared at the Portuguese and Brasilian National Trombone Festivals. He is currently studying conducting at the Zürich Hochschule for the Arts in Switzerland and has directed concerts with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Castillo y Leon and the National Orchestra of Spain.
