Marlena began playing the trombone at the age of 16 in the class of Łukasz Gwóźdź. She graduated with distinction from both her bachelor’s and master’s studies in the trombone class of Prof. Zdzisław Stolarczyk at the Academy of Music in Kraków in 2017. Two years later, she completed her master’s degree in the trombone class of Ian Bousfield at the Hochschule der Künste Bern.
Since 2019, she has been the principal trombonist of the Częstochowa Philharmonic and the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava. She also completed a bachelor’s degree in jazz trombone in the class of Dr. Grzegorz Nagórski.
She further developed her skills at workshops with trombonists such as Alain Trudel, Jörgen van Rijen, Stefan Schulz, Joseph Alessi, and many others.
As an artist and lecturer, she has been invited to the International Trombone Festival in Arkansas (USA), the International Trombone Symposium in Bétera (Spain), the International Trombone Festival in Basel (Switzerland), and Tromboholizm (Poznań).
