Tomasz Zabor
23 June 2023

Trombonist, designer and constructor of brass instruments. He began learning to play the trombone at the State Secondary Music School in Częstochowa, in the class of Łukasz Gwoźdź.

He completed his artistic education at the academic level entirely abroad. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Music in Graz (Austria), in the class of Carsten Svanberg, an outstanding Danish soloist and renowned teacher. He continued his studies at the Master's level at the Academy of Music in Basel (Switzerland) under the supervision of Edgar Manyak, a soloist of the Berlin Rudfunk-Sinfonieorchesters and a member of the Kühnl Trombone Quartet. Currently, Tomasz Zabor is a trombonist with the Zakhar Bron Festival Orchestra in Interlaken (Switzerland).

After three years of gaining craft practice in a leading German company and graduating from the Bavarian School of Instrument Making, he founded his own company, specializing in customizing trombones and building original instruments. Despite only a few years of operation on the German market, he quickly gained the trust and loyalty of not only musicians of Berlin orchestras, but also artists from many other leading music centers in Europe.

In 2023, under the ZaborBrass brand, he constructed the first original tenor trombone, which is the main instrument of the Polish trombonist Jarek Meisner, awarded in the same year with a honorable mention at the Prague Spring competition, performing the program on this instrument.
